bloody white gets introspective and experimental on his new EP, some reflections

Many up-and-coming artists have arisen during this strange and unique year. Santa Barbara artist, bloody white has continued to crank out new tunes like no other, and each release improves upon the prior. The twenty-year-old singer dabbles and experiments with a wide range of styles, one minute sounding like a 2000's alt band and another a futuristic electronic project. With two EPs and a handful of singles under his belt for 2020 alone, the artist has secured a spot for artists to watch next year.

We first discovered bloody white earlier this year when he released his jovial anthem, 'tongue tied.' The song has since amassed over two million streams on Spotify and has been added to prestigious playlists, including Lorem. The song landed a spot in my Spotify Wrapped Top Songs, and every time it plays, I can't help but light up with nostalgia and hope that these crazy times we are living will soon end.

bloody white's latest series of singles exemplifies his versatility and confidence in successfully tackling different styles. The singles make up the three-song project some reflections and showcase the artist's end-to-end DIY process in which he embodies. The man does everything from songwriting to producing and even mixes/masters each song. His production skills are tested on new bass-infused tracks' 12am' and 'I'm Okay.' The songs each build up to explosive, robotic choruses that have the power to rile up a whole tent at Coachella once the festival resumes.

The brand new song that premiered yesterday, 'Scars,' blends the low-key alternative sound from early tracks with his newly explored twinkly electro-pop territory. The result is a trance-inducing distraction from the spiraling WFH life and a portal into an energetic festival crowd.

Be sure to check out bloody white's entire catalog to prepare for the monstrous year that the single will manifest in 2021.
