Daydream Masi is back with "Can I Be The One"

After receiving recognition and acclaim in the past couple of years, daydream Masi is back with “Can I Be The One”. The 23-year-old artist from Akron continues to deliver a dreamy sound with soft lyrical delivery. His single “Favorite Drug” was featured in the Netflix original 13 Reasons Why along with Jeremih, Charli XCX, and YUNGBLUD. Then this past year his debut EP The Slow Rage Project received praise from Complex and Hypebeast.

His latest single continues the theme of acoustic sounds layered with light and floaty vocals. Masi’s last two releases, “Animal Style” and “Night Like This,” set a good foundation with their funk and indie roots, “Can I Be The One” feels more raw and full of expression. All three showcase this singer’s range and ability both in instrumentation and expression.

Masi’s voice flows throughout the track and supports the organic feel that he exudes, both in his musical and visual style. He’s on a roll and picking up momentum which makes me excited to see him grow as an artist.
