Florida-based artist badmonsham takes full form on his inventive single ‘Fall Away.’

There are few artists in today's landscape like badmonsham. The rapper, singer/songwriter, is the king of beat switches and 808 & Heartbreak type hooks. Every song the Florida-based artist puts out is carefully crafted and meticulous. Shamal Campbell (aka badmonsham) grew up listening to the greats; Kanye, Daft Punk, and Andre 3000 were some of his idols. His style encapsulates the same pioneering and experimentation that saw Kanye and Daft Punk revolutionizing their respective genres. There are electronic, hip hop, and pop elements in each of the four songs he has released; you never know what Campbell will pull out of his sleeve next.

Right now, Campbell resides in Los Angeles and is right where he needs to be. 'Jumpin' in the Rain' debuted in August and propelled sham into the indie scene. The song acts as a flex showing off the singer's ability to create an irresistible hook and showcase his emcee skills. In the singles to follow, sham doesn't shy away from experimentation with his autotune and industrial synth utilization. 'Doubt in My Mind' is a must-listen.

Today Campbell releases his latest single, 'Fall Away,' where we see the singer at his fully formed craft. The entirely autotuned track showcases innovation and unconventionality. Campbell explains that "Fall Away embraces the chase and being chased aspect of a touch and go relationship." He talks "about a girl in [his] life who wants [him] when [he's] emotionally unavailable," comparing it to "watching Tom and Jerry reruns."
