Michael Garmany’s solo project is a melting pot of indie-pop sounds enhanced by his passion for creating catchy hooks backed with production that will make you want to jump. Garmany launched his solo project earlier this year to make the music he has always dreamed of making while drawing influence from his roots that initially put him on the map. The pair of singles he released earlier this year showcase the lowkey upbeat versatility of the new sound he created, a blend of hip hop and bedroom pop. His debut single 'Bored To Death' flexes his artistry's adaptability as he switches back and forth harmonizing and rapping. The single was proceeded by sophomore track 'Still Missing,' a Justin Timberlake-type track with a groove that's impossible to sit still while listening to.

Garmany releases his next single 'Just Not That Good,' an uppity track who's R&B influences and synchronized toplines carry the tune. The song plays a cohesive continuation in the singer's narrative of self-reflective stories told through his lyricism. This new track is my favorite of the bunch and encompasses the boundless opportunities that pop music presents in 2020. The song's hook is hypotonic, causing listeners to share and add to all of their feel-good playlists. Be sure to keep a lookout for the California-artist's future releases as he looks to diversify and experiment with his sound further.

Garmany has also employed his voice to reach different audiences through his podcast titled, 'The Michael Garmany Podcast.' The podcast recounts Garmany's life experiences and everyday questions we question as a society in a conversational, edgy fashion. The podcast airs weekly on Sundays and features different topics that he dissects like "Why I Stopped Drinking" and "I'm Lazy As F*ck, But I'm Also Ambitious." Be sure to check out the podcast linked below and keep up with Garmany's commentary every Sunday.

Garmany spoke with us and told us: "JNTG was me responding to this boom of motivation/high achieving/flexing culture on social media. I feel like it's making everyone feel like shit about their average lives. I don't think anyone should settle for mediocrity, but I also don't think anyone needs to feel like it's over because they're having a moment of being sub-par. It's not forever. We all feel like we're not good enough at some point. You can and should go after greatness, but even an average life is a gift. I think we forget that with all of the pressure from a constant focus on visual success."
